Kelley Coffman D’Annibale, MD, recently joined Georgetown Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center as an Attending Physician within the Division of Hematology and Oncology, Department of Medicine.
Dr. Coffman D’Annibale is a medical oncologist specializing in the treatment of gastrointestinal cancers, specifically liver and bile duct cancer. Her research efforts focus on early-phase clinical trials investigating novel immunotherapy combinations, adoptive cellular therapies, and targeted drugs in hepatocellular carcinoma and cholangiocarcinoma. She will partner with the Ruesch Center for the Cure of Gastrointestinal Cancers to bring access to these pivotal clinical trials to our patients with early stage and advanced stage liver and bile duct cancers.
Dr. Coffman D’Annibale earned her medical degree from Georgetown University. She completed her internal medicine residency training at New York University, and prior to fellowship, she specialized as an oncologic hospitalist in gastrointestinal malignancies at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City for several years. She then completed her medical oncology training at the National Cancer Institute where she served as Chief Fellow.
Prior to joining Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center, Dr. Coffman D’Annibale was a GI medical oncologist at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. She treated complex patients with liver, bile duct, pancreas, colorectal, and neuroendocrine cancers and was an investigator on numerous clinical trials. She maintained a busy practice, providing high-quality, comprehensive care for her patients, which she anticipates doing in her new position at Georgetown.
According to Dr. John L Marshall, “Dr Coffman brings the triple threat of world-class knowledge, the energy that comes from a sense of urgency to find more cures, and a compassion and caring for patients and those we are educating. We are all excited for the impact she will have in the years to come”!
